An invitation

An original 1950s shack — kept honest, dressed gently, and reserved for slower weekends.

Original timber floors. Floor-to-ceiling windows that drink in the afternoon. King beds dressed in French linen, a record spinning in the corner, the smell of salt drifting through the back door. Miles Away Shack is the kind of place you arrive at, exhale, and don't quite want to leave.

01 The shack

Mid-century bones, lovingly restored.

White-washed floorboards, vintage finds and feathers from the beach. We took an honest little weatherboard and renovated it back into itself — quietly, slowly, and with a great deal of affection. It feels like the kind of shack your grandparents might have driven down to, only kinder to your back.

02 The bedrooms

Two king beds, dressed in linen the colour of seafoam.

Both rooms catch the morning, both wear vintage rugs and a stack of books you'll mean to start. Sleep four comfortably — though most people come for two, and a long lie-in.
